My Twitch Journey
Twitch is a video live streaming service that started as Justin.tv in 2011. Now operated by Twitch Interactive, a subsidiary of Amazon, Twitch is where millions of people come together live every day to chat, interact, and make their own entertainment together. My channel started out as a crafting and creative stream, where I made cosplays to a live audience and answered questions about the building processes. After being partnered for 3 years, I’ve slowly made the change from streaming costuming to my first love— gaming.
Live streaming has become an integral part of my life and career, checking one game off the backlog at a time. A typical stream begins with an hour of “IRL” which is an hour long Q&A where I connect with the audience directly, share stories, and relay noteworthy updates. The gaming happens subsequently, as we dive into whatever title the audience votes on, and ultimately experience a playthrough together with a series of standout moments “clipped” by the viewers to watch and laugh about later.
Presently our Twitch community consists of 370,381 views, 23,000 followers, and an average of 156 concurrent viewers.
